Clean, Fresh, and Friendly Essential Oil Blend Sprays: A spritz will do it!
Keeping germs at bay with essential oils can be a very pleasant experience. The bathroom is a place where there are many types of germs that cause challenges or illness. This includes stomach illnesses, pathogens that spread by contaminated food, skin and other mold and mildew ailments. The good news is that if you clean your bathroom regularly and wash your hands long enough all will be well.
Wash Your Hands
According to http://www.cdc.gov/features/handwashing the 20 second rule applies. “Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Be sure to lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds.”
Keep the air fresh with real medical grade essential oils
I have a strong affinity to the scent of spruce and pine. Have you ever noticed how clean and fresh the boughs of a Christmas tree make the air smell? Essential oils disinfect the air, boost your immunity and make the room smell delightful. Natural air fresheners are the way to go. I recommend you ditch the commercial air fresheners that just replace odors with chemicals and use natural methods to cleanse the air in your home.
Spray a Spritz!
Whether you are in your personal bathroom or in an airplane, the following aromatic mists are perfect to keep the germs and odors at bay. In the bathroom I recommend you spray a spritz before you go and one after you go. It’s profound how well these work for odors and also for the unseen bacteria, viruses and beyond.
Here are just a few of my favorites:

Make Your Own Spray!
It’s easy to make your own spray to mist around your house. Choose essential oils like lemon, pine, orange, eucalyptus, tea tree, lavender, niaouli, and so many others that have antifungal, antiseptic, antiviral, antibacterial therapeutic qualities. It’s easy to find out which essential oils have these qualities. Simply go to http://www.TheCrystalGarden.com and type the therapeutic quality you want into the search bar on the upper left side bar. You’ll receive plenty of good results to choose from.
Fill a 2 oz bottle with water.
Add 3 ML (Three milliliters is about 60 drops of essential oil) of a single note oil or make a synergistic blend using your favorite essential oils.
If you decide to make a synergistic blend, start out with about three or four essential oils so you can test out your formula. Keep track of how many drops of each oil you use so you can recreate it again.
Twist on the sprayer, shake well, and spray away! I recommend you label your bottle as soon as you complete your special spray.
Many commercial popular disinfectants are not natural substances. There are no regulations regarding marketing the words like natural aromatherapy and these misleading words tend to portray that they are healthy and natural. Some “fresheners” add additional burdens to the liver and immune system.
You have choices. Do a little more research and choose wisely to maintain a healthy home, office, airplane, hotel room, car – or anywhere that you are!
