Daylight Savings Time on March 12 marks the coming of Spring. We leap forward loosing one hour of sleep and gain the much-anticipated additional daylight. But with the change our bodies must also adjust. Sleep can be a challenge until our bodies regulate. Using the following tools can be extremely helpful during this time of transition.
Meditation – Whether you are a stressed executive, the over-scheduled mother or the creative genius we all need a time to learn to be quiet and block out the incessant chatter and slow down with a quiet mind, even if only for a few minutes at a time.

Sleep - During this time of transition sleep can be difficult. Lavender with its clean, floral, fresh, green, herbaceous, light, mellow, sweet, warm, woody fragrance is a relaxant, soother and conditioner. It is also a great tool for meditation.
Whether you are using Lavender Mist or Lavender Essential Oil it can be comforting, soothing and calming. Due to its relaxing and sedative nature, lavender is beneficial for challenging situation on all levels.
Another wonderful sleep (or insomnia) and meditation aid is Chamomile Essential Oil. Place a drop on a tissue or cotton ball and inhale prior to meditation or sleep (being mindful that the blue azulene can stain).
Repeat after me….I am calm. I am at peace. I am content. I go with the ever changing flow of life willingly and joyfully. I breathe deeply and oxygen replenishes my body. I feel protected.
