Named by the Greek naturalist Theophrastus between the 4th and 3rd centuries BC, agates have long fascinated humans. They form over long periods of time in nodules left in volcanic rock and are often used as grounding stones, bringing balance to our emotional, physical and intellectual state and promoting stability and strength. Sliced thin to reveal its translucent beauty, each piece of agate is unique. May the music of the chimes, combined with this ancient earth energy, bring harmony and balance to your life.

This product is designed to hang from a string loop, rather than an o-ring.

About the gemstone, agate, a small excerpt from The Essential Guide to Crystals, Minerals and Stones by Margaret Ann Lembo

“Chalcedonies, which comprise agates, onyx and sardonyx, and jaspers, are cryptocrystalline or microcrystalline quartz composed of microscopic quartz crystals. Agate, Jasper and Chalcedony all have chemical and physical properties that are virtually indistinguishable. A general distinction can be made that agates are banded while chalcedony is not banded; jasper is heavily colored with minerals and may contain iron and other impurities that impart the color and density of the stones.

The color of the earth, brown agate is a useful tool for grounding your awareness by connecting to the soil. It is easy to get distracted, go off on tangents, and never get anything done, but this stone can gently keep you on task while still allowing the energy of fun, play, and creativity.

Blue-dyed agate is useful for gaining insight and clarity. In cases where confusion or distractions exist, this stone can assist in gently guiding your attention back to the matter at hand. Use this stone with children for relieving stress regarding schoolwork or any type of study. It’s helpful for children as well as adults with ADD and ADHD.

Green-dyed agate helps you to remember to cleanse and purify your body as well as your environment. As you release toxins or unnecessary clutter in your life, you will make a healthier and clearer space in which to live. With this stone close by, take advantage of the healing properties of a swim in a pool, lake, or ocean or simply relax in a bath.

Magenta-dyed agate can help you to balance your emotions, thereby increasing your emotional maturity. The color magenta is a reminder of the Divine Mother within, who hears and knows the truth and accepts you unconditionally. This stone amplifies retribution, both positive and negative. Utilize the energy to amplify your intention through your heart and the upper heart, thymus, to project love into all your thoughts, goals, and actions.”
