THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE NAVEL CHAKRA
The navel chakra is the energy center where creativity resides. The ability manifest reality is held here. It’s entirely up to you what you wish to manifest; it can be a book, a child, a business, a garden, a delicious meal, a sculpture and so on. The possibilities are endless. Pull the energy up from the belly to step into action to make it so!
This center is also the center for dreaming. In order to manifest anything, we must be able to see it in our mind’s eye—whether in our waking daydreams or our sleeping night dreams. The creative force of dreamtime comes forth from the area of the womb. Many indigenous cultures focus on the navel as the center of power for meditation, dance and dreaming.
The navel chakra is also a storage center associated with emotions—both positive and negative. Often, emotions we least want to deal with are shoved down deep into the navel chakra. It is the place from which most cords of attachment to people, places and things of the past must be cut and released.
The orange energy of the navel chakra is located about three fingers below your belly button. This center is sometimes referred to as the sacral chakra or the sexual chakra. The primary color associated with the navel is orange as well as peach, burnt orange, deep gold and honey-colored brown. Peach can be used at the navel to bring more pink—specifically love—to the navel. Use rhodonite and rhodochrosite for this purpose. Being friendly, optimistic, demonstrating a sense of belonging, being creative and the ability to follow your gut intuition is an indication that your navel center is balanced.
The orange at the navel can be used as a focus for the intentional creation of reality. What do you want to give birth to? Connect with the end result in advance. Connect with the spirit of your creation as if it already exists. Do you want to create your own business, build a house, create a garden or write a book?
Imagine the spirit of your creation. Contemplate these questions: What does it look like? How does it feel? How does it smell? If your creation is something you can hold on to, imagine not only what it may emotionally feel like—the sensations as you touch it—but also how it feels to you on an emotional level. Use all your senses: thought, emotion, taste, smell, touch, sight and sound. Whatever you put your attention on will be created.
