” Starfish totem is an ally that offers support for clearing away leftover emotional debris. A starfish’s mouth is located on the underside of its body. It grazes the ocean floor and feeds on debris. Starfish do not have a centralized brain and are therefore unable to plan their actions. Starfish are not fish but echinoderms, which are closely related to sea urchins and sand dollars. Also known as sea stars, these starry creatures have no ears or eyes. When Starfish rides a wave into your life, it signals a time for you to stop trying to control and analyze everything. Instead, go with the flow and allow the current of life to take you where you need to go for nourishment and fulfillment. Put your analyses to rest, and trust your feelings and your intuition. ”

The value of journaling cannot be underestimated!
“Inner Journey Reflections
What is Inner Journey?
What will your inner journey uncover?
The unexamined life is not worth living is a famous dictum apparently uttered by Socrates at his trial for impiety and corrupting youth, for which he was subsequently sentenced to death, as described in Plato’s Apology. His ‘examination’ of life in this way spilled out into the lives of others, such that they began their own ‘examination’ of life, even though Socrates himself had lost his. Socrates was saying that a life without philosophy – an ‘unexamined’ life – was not worth living.
To start the journey, you must decide to take the journey. The energy of Fall as a season lends assistance to the vibe of going within. After a summer of being out in the world, the time for inner reflection approaches. It is also represented in the Medicine Wheel or the Wheel of Life as we cycle through the seasons. This is the time when we step into the quiet of our own consciousness and reflect. Reflect on the past 3 months or reflect on a specific time of your own life. Perhaps a nagging emotion or realization has arisen over the summer.
Take the time with a pen in hand – or at your computer or phone – to journal. The power of journaling is not to be underestimated. I find it valuable to actually take a pen in hand and write in a journal or an ordinary spiral-bound notebook. Write down anything and everything that comes to mind. Remember, no one else will be reading this. You may not even make any sense with what you are writing. It doesn’t matter! Let yourself doodle. Contemplate.
Make note of the feelings you are experiencing. Write them down even if they don’t make sense. Eventually, you will notice how the pieces of the puzzle start to reveal patterns and clues to help you understand yourself better and integrate all that goes on around you and within you.”
