About Yellow Agate Mala Beads ~ an excerpt from The Essential Guide to Crystals, Minerals and Stones by Margaret Ann Lembo
“Chalcedonies, which comprise agates, onyx and sardonyx, and jaspers, are cryptocrystalline or microcrystalline quartz composed of microscopic quartz crystals. Agate, Jasper, and Chalcedony all have chemical and physical properties that are virtually indistinguishable. A general distinction can be made that agates are banded while chalcedony is not banded; jasper is heavily colored with minerals and may contain iron and other impurities that impart the color and density of the stones.
Yellow agate enhances mental clarity. When something is “as clear as mud,” hold on to a piece of yellow agate and visualize your mind clearing so that you can more accurately see the situation at hand. This stone aids in discernment and understanding. Use it when you need to set boundaries.
Yellow agate is beneficial when you are trying to absorb and understand your own feelings. When you are having difficulty putting your finger on what you are feeling, this stone can help you recognize the emotions at play inside you and help you come up with some ideas to help you feel better.”
