The Summer Solstice is officially the first day of summer today, June 21. Summer conjures up all kinds of outdoor activities; spending time at the beach or lake, picnics with family and friends, gardening and the joy of a cloud burst bringing forth a breathtaking rainbow.
Many parts of the country have been experiencing record breaking rain, and with the rain, those pesky mosquitos join the fun! Using natural methods to control the bugs of summer has always been my first choice.
Use Lemongrass Essential Oil Blend as a good insect repellent. It also reduces pet odors and helps to keep your pets free of ticks and fleas.
Another choice is Bye Bye Buggies Spray. Use this spray to discourage most bugs and insects from landing or crawling onto treated area. (ants, flies, mosquitoes, chiggers, spiders, fleas and ticks) Spray every three hours as needed. This blend was created to repel insects, and yet it has proven to be the #1 deodorizer of bathroom odors, and pet smells.
Summer is also the time for road trips. Use Peppermint Essential Oil as an aid to stay awake while driving. This oil serves double duty relieving the itching and irritation of mosquito bites.
For those of you who are interested in astrology and the zodiacal cycles, the Sun is at 0 degrees Cancer to start this next quarter. Cancer is the fourth astrological sign of the zodiac cycle and, therefore, the ruler of the fourth house of the astrological chart. The fourth house is associated with the home, family, real estate, your mothers (or fathers), and also how you see yourself. Cancer is a Cardinal sign, the planetary ruler is the Moon – a luminary or light – and its symbol is the Crab. The element associated with Cancer is Water. The key phrase for Cancer is “I feel.”
With love and gratitude,
