Gemstones and the Tarot by Margaret Ann Lembo

Gemstones and the Tarot by Margaret Ann Lembo

Using crystals and gemstones for readings came to my awareness after years of assisting customers pick gemstones in my own retail store in Florida, The Crystal Garden. Customers often want to know what stone will bring them love, or which crystal will clear negativity from their lives. I recommend that they go stand before the jewelry counter or the display of tumbled stones and encourage them to allow their eyes to go to what is drawing their attention.

The Gemstone Oracle

Add the element of the Gemstone Oracle in your tarot card sessions. To start the session, before you lay your cards, have the client pick gemstones from a pile of tumbled stones like the photo pictured here. After the client chooses the stones they are attracted to, tell them a bit about the qualities of those stones and why they may have been attracted to the stones. The size, shape, and color give you, the reader, clues as to why they chose those gems. Offer them a book about stones so they can read further about what they have chosen. For example, my book, The Essential Guide to Crystals, Minerals and Stones, look up more about the chosen crystals or recommend the client reads more. The book provides the mental, spiritual, emotional and physical uses of the stone as well as divination or Divine Guidance. The astonishment regarding the accuracy of what each stone represents for them in their life truly amazes client after client.

Develop your intuition

For you as the tarot card reader, my recommendation of gemstones to use for developing and enhancing intuition are amethyst, apophyllite, clear quartz, kyanite, lapis lazuli, and selenite. All of these gems amplify your ability to see the unseen, know the unknown, and hear what is not being said. With clear intention on your part, use these stones with the goal to focus on trusting your inner voice as well as the many signs and symbols available to you through your dreams and synchronistic life situations.

What’s your favorite tarot card?

I have some favorites! Mine are the Empress, the Lovers, and the Ten of Cups. The Empress card is symbolic of the empowered female as well as the feminine entrepreneur. The Lovers is one that denotes a loving relationship or a strong partnership, and the Ten of Cups is a celebration of balanced emotions and the vibe of happily ever after. All the pink and green gemstones are aligned with all three of these tarot cards. Let’s say emerald for the Empress, Ruby for the Lovers, and Rose Quartz for the Ten of Cups.

Emerald affirmation: I am grateful for my prosperity. I am healthy, whole, and complete. I am successful in all of my pursuits. My actions have beneficial results for everyone.

Ruby affirmation: Vital life force flows vibrantly through me. I am strong and health. I am grateful for my energetic passion.

Rose Quartz affirmation: My heart is open to giving and receiving love. I transform the world around me through focusing my energy and intentions on Divine love.

Challenging cards in the tarot deck

There are a few cards that can represent challenges. Remember, it doesn’t mean there is a disaster on the horizon, but perhaps trials and tribulations that offer growth and experience. The Tower is a card that sometimes indicates a major change and disruption in the status quo. During times of change and potential upheaval, use calcite to assist you through the transitionary period. Affirmations are helpful to maintain awareness and intention.

With an optical calcite say this affirmation: I see life clearly now. All obstacles have fallen away. Green or pink calcite are helpful when you are experiencing a change of heart.

Blue calcite helps you when you realize you need help with communication and the ability to understand others. Use this affirmation: I speak with love and kindness. I communicate softly regardless of what I need to express.

Green or pink calcite are helpful when you are experiencing a change of heart. Use this affirmation to open your ability to accept change: I remain grounded and focused even when the world around me changes.
Orange calcite is optimal for all types of change and to really help you recognize that all change leads to better life situations. Use this affirmation: I embrace change. I create my own reality.

Crystal Grids for Peaceful Interactions

“Whether you are setting this grid in your home, office, or backyard, the intention to establish with these gems is peaceful, harmonious, and calm vibrations. The hematite stones will assist in grounding the remaining stones in this grid to establish a strong foundation.

  • CelestiteCelestite of either the cluster or tumbled variety is excellent to focus on during challenging or upsetting conversations. The pastel-blue color of this gemstone brings calm and peaceful conversations when used with that intent. Use celestite to call on the angelic realm to help you find the right words during intense conversations. Such clusters are beneficial for communication and the true understanding of others in a group setting.
  • Hematite—This shiny metallic stone works wonders in shifting negative feelings by calming and relaxing you. It is a grounding stone that helps you focus on that which is important. It is also a perfect stone to help quiet the mind and to reach a nothingness state of consciousness, as the majority of the people often experience frequent, incessant mental chatter. This stone is beneficial to relax the physical body and calm the mind to enable a quiet time for contemplation and connection with the earth.

Aromatherapy and Gemstones for Mindfulness and more

Aromatherapy and Gemstones for Mindfulness and more
By Margaret Ann Lembo

Aromatherapy isn’t just for smelling! Essential oils are powerful allies – mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally. They contain potent chemical components and have the ability to deter a wide range of bacterial, fungal, viral, and/or other disease-causing microorganisms. Aromatherapy is effective on an energetic level to restore balance. Add a gemstone to help you maintain mindfulness and match your intentions with the aroma. Gemstones and crystals are allies to help you with mindfulness.

Here is a peek into the vibrational level of four essential oils and some gems opening to help you step beyond the ordinary.

Eucalyptus’ medicinal scent is penetrating, peppery, and powerful. With lapiz lazuli or sodalite in hand, inhale eucalyptus and breathe deeply to calm you while you release unhealthy attachments. The deep blue color of these two gems help you to see, sense, feel, and know the truth in any matter. Lapis lazuli opens the third eye and the intuitive senses when used with conscious intent. This is a good stone to help you remember your dreams and promote clarity during dreamtime. Lapis lazuli and sodalite along with other dark blue gemstones improve your concentration and focus and can be used during test-taking to align you with the higher knowledge that is accessible to all.

Frankincense brings wisdom and connection with inner peace and calm. Its respiratory gifts open the breathing passages making it a perfect tool for meditation. It helps us to remember that all things are possible. It teams with apophyllite to aid in grasping the connection to the divine. Apophyllite helps you access the Akashic Records. Use it during Reiki sessions to help you stay focused on allowing the Universal Life Force to flow through you. This sparkling gem brings higher levels of clarity to meditation experiences.

Lavender offers sweet transformation. Attraction to this scent signals a time to comfort yourself as you take it into your own hands to do what it takes to make your life happy. The list of therapeutic properties is quite long! Pair lavender’s scent with pink calcite to amplify feelings of safety and comfort. Pink calcite activates loving thoughts. It transforms less ideal mental musings into thoughts of self-love, thereby increasing your ability to love, and receive love from, others. Hold this stone when you are concentrating on thinking positive and uplifting thoughts about yourself and others.

Patchouli is perfect to attract both love and money. Inhale patchouli to help bring focus and promote the action necessary to amplify prosperity and goodwill toward all. Patchouli is a stabilizer and encourages grounded action. Gemstones like green moss agate or Kambamba jasper are beneficial to help you release toxic thoughts and replace them with good thoughts that naturally attract benefic energy. Green moss agate, with its moss-like pattern, helps you to remember to ground yourself. Use Green moss agate when you are experiencing mental fatigue. This stone helps you replenish your mental focus. Use Kambamba to improve your ability to give love and receive love. Its green energy opens your heart to loving yourself and others more fully and completely. It is also a good stone to keep nearby during regression therapy. The stone contains stromatolites, which are among the oldest fossils on earth considered to be over 3 billion years old, which provides it with the energy to help dislodge any stored information that is causing a repetitive pattern in your emotional consciousness.

Enjoy the benefits of pairing gemstones with essential oils to increase well-being and inner peace in your life. Maintain a sense of gratitude in all that you do and you will be blessed in all areas of your life.

Crystal Grids on the Desk and in the Office

Crystal Grids on the Desk and in the Office

“The choices for placement of stones on your desk are unlimited. There is no need to make geometric formations with the crystals placed on a desk, though you can if you wish, of course. Simply place gemstones within your line of sight and your reach so you can gaze at the stone or pick it up easily. Again, you can create a crystal grid for your desk and/or office that suits exactly the type of energy you want to invite into your work life.

What’s on My Desk? What’s on Your Desk?
Keeping crystals and gemstones close by while you work is a powerful way to bring in all types of positive energy, like extra focus, high motivation, deep intuition, unleashed creativity, and so on. My writing desk is always covered by a variety of gemstones, which I might change from time to time depending on what sort of energy I want to invite into my workspace. I place all the stones within my line of vision in a row in front of my monitors. You may want to create a special grid with the stones you place on your desk or just line them up like I do. Here’s what you’ll find on my desk as I write this, and what these same stones might do for you in your workspace:

Carnelian—This beautiful tumbled piece of carnelian is a constant reminder to me to take action and give birth to the many ideas and inspirational products that flow through my consciousness. I consider this particular piece my writing companion. Sometimes it’s just in my peripheral vision reminding me to maintain forward momentum with a manuscript or article. Other times, it’s a motivator to finalize something.

Clear quartz tabular point—A tabular point is flat and narrow on one termination and the other point is rounder and wider, making this piece of quartz a bit unusual looking. The flat portion on one side of the point has triangular markings, creating a crystalline castle–type appearance. I gaze at this stone when I’m contemplating what I’ll be writing next or when I’m happily waiting for a deeper understanding of something so that I can put it in writing.

Elestial (record keeper) quartz—I keep two elestial smoky quartz crystals on my desk to keep me in communication with the angelic realm. One is shaped like a scepter point with cathedral-like turret formations. The record keeper markings (which look like a series of fine triangular etchings, but are completely natural) are predominant on both of them. Legend has it that these geometric treasures (which hold records of the past, present, and potential future realities) were brought to earth by the heavenly realm through the ethers, which is why this skeletal-like quartz often looks singed.

Sodalite—I keep three pieces of this stone on my desk. Two are large tumbled stones, and the other is an extraordinary heart-shaped piece. I focus on this trio when I need to calm myself and slow down. If I feel agitated about something, especially if it involves a business matter that I’m discussing on the phone, I either hold them or gaze at them to ground myself and regain my sense of calm. Also, the deep blue of this stone aligns me with the energy of inspired thinking while I write.

Kunzite—Three pieces of kunzite have their home on my desk. Kunzite is my constant reminder to stay focused on love and kindness. As a human, it is too easy to get angry or feel frustrated. Kunzite reminds me to stay focused on my heart; therefore, anything unlike love melts away.

Jade— My jade is my reminder that it takes a community to do all the work I offer and that the wonderful members of my staff are an integral part of getting the message of love and positive thinking out into the world.”

Beginner’s Grid Making

Beginner’s Grid Making by Margaret Ann Lembo

“A crystal grid is the use of gemstones in geometric formations placed in or around a person, place or thing to achieve the formed intention. Crystal grids can be combined with crystal alignments with larger groups of people at sacred sites. Using crystals for essences to spray, in a charm bag, or in a grid, use the gems to focus your intentions for your daily life. Add prayers and positive affirmations to support your intentions. There are many ways to incorporate gemstones as a tool for amplifying all that is good.

Bring your rocks to bed. Place a smooth tumbled stone under your pillow or inside your pillowcase before going to sleep. You can also place it on your nightstand or under your mattress, or hold it in your hand as you fall asleep. A crystal grid on your night table or around your bed may be beneficial as well.

Create an altar or grid of gemstones. A crystal altar is simple to create. Simply choose a space in your home like a countertop, a windowsill, or a table. Either place the crystals in a bowl or create an attractive display or geometric formation with your intention in mind. There is a feeling of accomplishment and divine connection when we make a ritual out of working with gemstones. Find out more about creating a grid in Chapter 7 in my book, Crystals Beyond Beginners: Awaken Your Consciousness with Precious Gifts from the Earth.

Place gemstones around your home and office. Keep the crystal that aligns with your intention on your desk as a reminder. Place the chosen stones on windowsills, countertops, end tables, coffee tables, and so on.”

Are you ready to transform your life?

Are you ready to transform your life?

Fall is a time for shedding the old to make room for the new. Imagine any habits or thoughtforms that you’re ready to release are falling away like the leaves of a tree. Consciously decide to replace these with positive habits that will bring you closer to your goals and watch your life transform.

There are many saints and angels that can help you in this pursuit though my two favorites are Archangel Zadkiel and Saint Germain. Both are associated with the color purple, and Saint Germain connects you with the Violet Flame of Transformation.

Archangel Zadkiel is the angel of mercy and encourages forgiveness which is a big part of letting go. Not only must we forgive those we perceive have wronged us, but in many cases, we need to forgive ourselves for the part we played in the situation. Often “bad” habits come with a certain amount of guilt or shame and to fully release the habit we also must forgive ourselves.

Archangel Zadkiel also uses those around us as mirrors to show us areas of our lives we might need to work on. Have you noticed that people and situations are reflecting your feelings or thoughts? Archangel Zadkiel might already be working in your life to aid in your self-awareness and personal growth.

Saint Germain and the Violet Flame are all about transmutation. Think of the Violet Flame like universal recycling, it takes in”negative” or unwanted energy and changes it into positive energy. Saint Germain also offers a higher perspective and understanding through hindsight. Through this fuller understanding, healing can truly begin. Lessons also become clear and you’ll find you no longer need to repeat the same patterns over and over again.

I can’t talk about transformation without mentioning Amethyst! Amethyst is the perfect ally during times of change. It aids in releasing addiction and can ease transformation. To use this vibration in changing unwanted situations, imagine yourself surrounded by a vibrating, glowing bubble of violet light emanating from the stone. As you imagine this, know that all that you are upset about or challenged by is currently being transformed and transmuted into something powerful. Imagine the situation changing to what you do want versus how it currently is. The vibration of your imagination of how you want your life to be combined with the violet light will effectuate change.

Pair any of these tools with the following affirmation: “I create my reality. I can change my reality. It’s easy for me to transform and transmute challenging situations. I use my intuition and follow my hunches.”

Honoring Mother Mary: The Assumption, Dormition, and Aquamarine

Honoring Mother Mary: The Assumption, Dormition, and Aquamarine by Margaret Ann Lembo

Like Enoch and Elijah, Mother Mary, the Mother of Jesus the Christ, was assumed into heaven by the power of God. Upon her natural death, Mother Mary’s soul was received by Christ and she, too, had her body resurrected on the third day after her death. At that time her body was taken up into heaven. Like her son, Jesus the Christ, her tomb was found empty on the third day. The Assumption is celebrated on August 15. According to Eastern and Orthodox Churches, which falls around the same time on the calendar, Mary’s passing is considered the Dormition of the Mother of God. Dormition indicates that Mary died without suffering in a state of spiritual peace.

As a child, on the 15th of August each year, my mother would send me to the water’s edge of the bay in front of our summer home to collect water from the Atlantic Ocean so the whole family could blessed with the healing in the waters. The belief that the waters of the ocean are blessed on this date leads each of us to the sacred energy of healing and love in the waters of the sea.

To further align with this energy, this year and every year, take a piece of aquamarine, this blue variety of the mineral beryl, in hand for contemplation and meditation. Aquamarine, which means seawater, is associated with Poseidon and Neptune. The varying shades of blue of this stone elicits the soothing energy of peaceful waters. Connecting with sea water through this stone is a joyful way to awaken spiritually and is an excellent tool for self-development and spiritual awakening. The practice of opening communication with sacred energy of the sea helps the development of telepathic skills and the understanding of other types of spiritual communication, including prayer, meditation, and contemplation.

Mother Mary, during her many visitations to Earth after her Assumption, sends out a call to pray. Pray for each other. Pray for yourself. Pray for the well-being of all beings. In the late 1990s, a spiritual teacher asked me to rewrite the Hail Mary prayer. I usually sing it. Here are the lyrics:

Oh Mary! Oh Great Mother!
We honor your presence on our planet.
Oh Mary! Oh Great Mother!
We honor the Christ within you.
Guide all people of our world.
Help us to hear your guidance.
Open our hearts to your love.
Show us the way forever!

Open your consciousness to receive blessings and align with the sanctified vibration of the molecules in the water. If you don’t live anywhere near water, you are able to bless some water straight from your tap with intention, love, and focus. Gaze at your aquamarine, contemplate the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and breathe loving intentions into the water to activate ‘holy water’ for blessing you, your family, your business, and your home. Take advantage of this Holy Day, August 15 that is celebrated by many.

Mary Magdalene and the Feminine Christ Consciousness: Aromatics and Gems By Margaret Ann Lembo

Mary Magdalene’s energy is useful to connect with to open your heart to unconditional love and empowered wisdom. She is the Feminine Christ Consciousness. Align with this icon of the Divine to activate the blessings of the matriarchal vibration. Mary Magdalene is considered to be a saint by the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, and Lutheran churches. Other churches honor her as a heroine of the faith. Her life and work goes beyond any organized religion.

The matching vibrational gemstone, magenta-dyed agate can help you to balance your emotions, thereby increasing your emotional maturity. The color magenta is a reminder of the Divine Mother within, who hears and knows truth and accepts you unconditionally. This stone amplifies retribution, both positive and negative. Utilize the energy to amplify your intention through your heart and the upper heart, thymus, to project love into all your thoughts, goals, and actions. Other gemstones that are a vibrational match are colbaltoan calcite, phosphosiderite, and rhodonite.

There are texts that have been uncovered that confirm Jesus’ marriage to Mary Magdalene and the birth of their children. Historical data and historical novels document this information which offers a higher level of awareness for Mary Magdalene’s role as the wife of Jesus the Christ. There is historical evidence that indicates that she was an evolutionary aromatherapist. It is a well-known fact that she used spikenard (nard) on the feet of Jesus the Christ prior to the series of events that lead to the crucifixion.

To align with this evolutionary aromatherapist, use matching aromatics to activate the wise one within you along with the Feminine Christ Consciousness. Essential oils like rose, spikenard, and cedarwood are just a few that you can use to fragrance your sacred space. Certain scents are associated with various spiritual archetypes.

For example, the scent of roses is often also associated with Mother Mary, or the Divine Feminine. Saint Therese of Lisieux, known as the Little Flower, is associated with lilies, orris root, jasmine, violets, and roses. She is quoted as saying, “I will spend my heaven doing good on earth. I will let fall a shower of roses.” Her signature is the rose, which is her way of sending a sign to anyone who needs to know his or her prayers have been heard. In 1531, Our Lady of Guadalupe proved her identity to Juan Diego, an Aztec Indian, with Castilian roses growing on the dry dessert hill on which she had appeared. These are just a few of the examples of the spiritual realm providing signs through scent.

Spikenard played an important support role for Jesus the Christ as administered by Mary Magdalene. Spikenard is a sedative. It relaxes the muscles, helps you sleep, and reduces anxiety and physical tension. Spikenard has been used as a sleep aid and muscle relaxant for thousands of years. It is part of the valerian family and is also known as muskroot. In some historical accounts, it states that spikenard was the oil in the alabaster jar used by Mary Magdalene on the feet of her husband, Jesus the Christ, to prepare him for the torture that lead to his death.

Add cedarwood to synergistic blends intended to clear away negativity. Just as sage and cedar are traditionally burned together for ceremonial use and smudging, use the essential oils of sage and cedarwood together in an aroma-energetic mist to spritz away negative energy. Cedarwood is helpful for meditation and prayer work. Cedarwood deepens your spiritual practice and rituals. It is useful when you want to ground a visualization practice or focused intent to draw upon the gifts of the law of attraction. It helps bring about prophetic visions.

Use this affirmation to connect with the wisdom of this wise woman while you integrate the use of gemstones and essential oils. Hold the stone, breathe deeply, and clear your mind as you think good thoughts.

I integrate spirituality into my everyday life. I have a connection with the Divine. With every step I take, I am aware of my connection with the sacred ground. I align my consciousness with gentleness, compassion, and goodwill toward all. My focus is on compassion and kindness.

Summertime Crystal Grid Ideas for Nature and Outdoors By Margaret Ann Lembo

Summertime Crystal Grid Ideas for Nature and Outdoors By Margaret Ann Lembo

A crystal grid is the use of gemstones in a geometric pattern placed on or around a person, place, or thing to achieve the desired intention. The use of sacred geometry to realize a goal is employed by many including metaphysicians, spiritual teachers, and spiritual practitioners.

Create a grid of stones in your backyard for summertime enjoyment. Set your intention and decide which gems best suit the situation. For an outdoor grid, I recommend that you take note of where you are placing the crystals around your yard.

Here is a step-by-step guide to get you going.

  • Write down a clear intention that defines the purpose of the grid.
  • Pick the crystals that will positively affect change.
  • State your intention
  • Intuitively place the stones around the space
  • Use your imagination and visualize beams of light connecting every stone for love and well-being.

Around the pool area use aquamarine, blue lace agate, chrysoprase, selenite align you with the spirits of water, relaxation, and comfort.

By the barbecue grill area use apatite, clear quartz, green calcite, hematite, rose quartz, smoky quartz to improve cooking abilities to provide your loved ones with healthy food.

For the gardener in you, make a grid to connect with nature spirits to support your gardening efforts. Choose andalusite, clear quartz, green moss agate, green tourmaline, and tree agate.

When creating a crystal grid in a landscape or even at home, room or office, remember to envision the crystals that are placed throughout the space connected energetically to create a geometric formation. In your mind’s eye, connect the crystals with beams of light in order to create the grid. Your imagination is key in this process. Use it and visualize your desired outcome.

Matching Up Crystals with Intentions and Positive Thoughts by Margaret Ann Lembo

Crystals and gemstones are tools for focusing your thoughts on your intentions and goals. Use crystals alongside two other key tools: visualization and imagination. Intentions and positive thoughts are the products of both. Energetically match up your intentions and thoughts with crystal and gemstone allies to help you focus on major life concerns and bring into your life what you desire. Crystal intentions amplify the beneficial effects of the law of attraction.

There are six main areas that are most important to most people. These are:
• Friendship, Love, Relationships, and Romance
