Staying in “Grid Mode” by Margaret Ann Lembo

Staying in “Grid Mode” by Margaret Ann Lembo

“A crystal grid allows you to extend a positive intention out to the world for the purpose of contributing to universal peace and harmony. Such grids can be permanently established within a physical space or constructed as part of a solo or group meditation wherein the participants focus their intention on benefitting the world around them. When undertaken with strong positive intention, the results of such grids can be transformative.

The most important factor in establishing a grid is the intention of the grid itself and maintaining a focus on that intention. You know how easy it for our minds to wander off to the grocery store list, what someone said that hurt our feelings or any variety of random thoughts and feelings. When you are intentionally working with a grid, you will want to rid yourself of those extraneous thoughts and stay focused on the matter at hand. I recommend that you choose a crystal for that purpose, a stone you designate as the “I-will-stay-focused” stone. I’ve personally used laser quartz crystals, a kyanite blade, a natural formed black tourmaline, and selenite rods or wands. Regardless of which gem you pick for this purpose, establish a key phrase to keep your mind on the intention of the grid. I use the phrase, “Love, light, and well-being for the highest good of all concerned” or some variation on that.”

Create Your Grid with Intention

There is no wrong way to create a grid. Whether you are creating a grid to step into and lie down in or creating a small one for your alter, the use of geometry to link up one crystal to another is the way to go. Geometrics is simply a series of geometric shapes—lines, circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles—to form a design or a pattern.

Use a line to amplify and direct an intention between two crystals. Square formations are beneficial for grounding and stabilizing the reason for the grid. Rectangles are a simple variation on the square when you want to elongate or lengthen the time and space for the effectiveness of the intention within the grid. And, my personal favorite, triangle grids establish an alignment between heaven and earth. Use the triangle formation to request amplify assistance from angels and guides.”

Selenite, Smudging, and Sprays: Spiritual Hygiene

Selenite, Smudging, and Sprays: Spiritual Hygiene by Margaret Ann Lembo

Do find yourself slightly off after a day of activities? Beyond the natural need for rest, this feeling of imbalance is often the result of picking up the energy those around you. There is often residue of all types of energy in buildings, stores, schools, and so on. To maintain vitality and emotional balance, utilize tools for spiritual hygiene.

Selenite, a form of the mineral gypsum, aligns you with higher consciousness and love. It is a vibrational tool that activates mental clarity and focus. Selenite is a cleansing stone. Selenite is a reminder that you are spiritually, physically, and mentally aligned, it is easy to keep your emotions in balance. This stone helps you detach from drama and thereby gain a greater understanding of people and situations. Use this stone like a magic wand of love, light, and goodness to help dissipate any feelings of inadequacy, jealousy, doubt, fears, or any other type of negativity.

Smudging, the traditional spiritual practice of clearing away negative energy is a powerful way to clear out these vibes. Using the smoke of burning herbs typically dried sage focus on the intentional of removing these troublesome energies. Because of its ethereal qualities and its tendency to rise toward the heavens, smoke has been used in spiritual practices for millennia. When the herbs are burned, the smoke emitted is directed to all parts of the room or space being cleared. This is performed with the intention of releasing negative thoughts, words, actions, or other energies created by yourself or others that have accumulated there. In addition to clearing a physical space, smudging can be used for clearing the energy or aura of a person. You can even use it for clearing away any negative energy that has accumulated on specific possessions.

Equally as effective, the smokeless alternative, use a liquid combination of essential oils, vibrational flower essences, and holy waters around you and your space. The pleasant scent and the beneficial properties of the liquid restore equilibrium. Sage and cedar essential oils (two drops or milliliters of sage to one of cedar) combined with water in a spray bottle is an easy recipe to create your own personal liquid smudge. You can use an essential oil, such as sweet marjoram, on the base of your neck, your temples, and the base of your spine to “seal in” the clearing for added benefit. This is especially beneficial if you are feeling emotional or extremely out of sorts.

When I first created Smudge in Spray in the late 1990s, it was to clear away negativity and bring forth blessings. It also improved my respiratory health due to the combination of ingredients. Of course, I had to add Holy Water to the formula. During my travels over the years, I’ve been collecting and accumulating Holy Water from spiritual sights around the globe. In more recent years, my reader fans have gifted me with bottles of Holy Water from their local cathedral. It’s a gift that keeps on giving because I then add those Holy Waters to Smudge in Spray which has now become the number one best-selling smudge spray or liquid alternative to smudging. Check your local store or get it here from us at The Crystal Garden. It can be found from NYC to London, from Miami to Japan.

Whether you are using a smokeless smudge spray or a smoking smudge stick or herbs, simply spray or “smoke” your auric, or energy, field. Alternatively, spray the mist or allow the smoke to rise above and in front of you and walk into it. As the mist or smoke settles on and around you, imagine that your energy field is being cleared. Keep your mind focused on clearing away that which is no longer for your highest good and visualize, imagine, or know that you are inviting blessings and love to replace the negative energy or thoughtforms.

When you perform this for another person, spray the mist or release the smoke around his or her energy field, or allow the person to walk into the smoke or mist as described. Remind the person to visualize that the negativity is clearing away, making room for positive energy to enter.

Just like dust accumulates in corners of your home, take the time to consciously remove negative energy and employ these tools to restore well-being. Clear your energetic space then observe the difference in the way you feel. Note the shift in the way your days unfold when you keep the vibrations of your space vibrating at the rate of love.

The real purpose of smudging originates from the part of you that remembers your true nature, which is calm, peaceful, and happy. Smudging isn’t simply the removal of negativity, but more important, it is the remembrance of love, kindness, compassion, and true happiness. Find inner strength and cultivate self-confidence. Incorporate selenite, smudging, and sprays into your days and enjoy life!
