The Solar System is the gravitationally bound system of the Sun and the objects that orbit it. The largest of such objects are the eight planets from the Sun: four terrestrial planets named Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars, two gas giants named Jupiter and Saturn, and two ice giants named Uranus and Neptune. A star system is a group of planets, meteors, or other objects that orbit a large star. While there are many star systems, including at least 200 billion other stars in our galaxy, there is only one solar system. That’s because our sun is known by its Latin name, Sol.
The solar system includes everything that is gravitationally drawn into the sun’s orbit. Astronomers have discovered there are many other large stars within our galaxy, the Milky Way. Use these resources to teach students about the objects and relationships within our solar system.

Astrology and the Zodiac
The sign of the zodiac with which the stone is associated. There are so many opinions from so many gemologists, authors, astrologers, metaphysicians, and others providing their take on the assignment of the zodiac sign for each gemstone. The astrological signs and some of the vibrational matching gemstones are listed here below. The information shared here are based on more than three decades of study with many different teachers. To determine the association, I look at the way the mineral grows, the color associations, chakra qualities, and the geometrics of the stone and how it relates to the qualities.
