” To add a ceremonial flair to your chakra alignment, set up a private space by arranging a collection of thoughtfully chosen gemstones. Light complementary-colored candles and infuse the space with essential oils. Ambient music adds a nice touch. Recline, anoint yourself with the essential oil, and place the gemstones on and around your chakras while focusing your intention on balance and alignment. Relax, breathe deeply, and enjoy the positive energy.

A RITUAL: HONORING THE SEVEN DIRECTIONS

Using a ritual at the beginning of a new journey, such as learning about rebalancing your chakras, is a good way to invite new experiences and knowledge into your life. Using a ritual is a wonderful solution to realign yourself on all levels. Rituals speak to your soul. They provide a sacred and meaningful process to connect with the deeper essence of the self. Rituals inspire and open the consciousness to bring forth awareness that may have otherwise lain dormant. Create a soul-centered ceremony to align with your practical reality and watch how your perspective on life changes. Rituals create a doorway to higher truth and deeper understanding.

Use the following ritual to invoke the seven directions. This invocation is a template or foundation for the opening of a ceremony or the beginning of a prayerful experience. Invite the sacred into your daily life. Feel free to include objects in this ritual or invocation. Sacred objects provide a focal point to help maintain concentration and prevent the mind from wandering. Some objects you may want to include are candles, incense, sage, crystals, an empty bowl, a rattle or a drum, and flowers. As the ritual progresses, allow inspiration to direct the use of the objects or just let them be on a mesa or altar before you.

Creating an altar is as simple as placing a cloth in front of you and putting the objects of choice on it. The beginning of a  ritual is often called an invocation because you are invoking or inviting specific deities, spirit guides, angels, or elements to be present for the ritual. During the invocation, I honor the seven directions. Here I are my intentions I wish for you to enter into the subject matter of this book.”
