Ceiba petandra

Copal is a resin often used by the Mayan culture. It is a gum that comes out of the Cieba tree found in Mexico, South America, and West Africa. Copal clears out negativity and brings in positive spiritual energy. It has been documented to have been used as far back as the pre-Columbian Mesoamerican people. I became familiar with copal during my visits to Mexico for the Sacred Sites tours as well as Native American Church ceremonies. It is a golden or white-colored resin that you burn as an incense over charcoal to remove negativity. It’s beneficial for prayers, ceremonies, blessings and clearings.
