Geologically, it is typically a rock composed mainly of green epidote with red piedmontite inclusions. The name "Dragon Blood Jasper" is largely a trade name used in the gemstone and crystal market. Many geologists would not classify it as true jasper because jasper is a variety of microcrystalline quartz, whereas Dragon Stone's composition is different.
