Buddha Wisdom Shakti Power deck and guidebook set present sacred images from the Buddhist and Hindu pantheon of deities and demons to help us with our earthly challenges. The colorful cards were created from Laura Santi’s paintings, done in the beautifully detailed style of ancient thangka artwork. These complex images allow our minds to absorb the energetic spiritual message the deities carry within themselves. With their powerful messages, the cards may be used for prayer and meditation work, as well as learning about Buddhist beliefs and practices.

The artist and author introduces the deities and shares their fascinating stories with humor and a warm narrative style. “Ganesh is like that uncle who knows everyone and can introduce you to anyone.”

Laura Santi graduated with an education in graphic design from the University of Cincinnati in 1981, where the emphasis at that time of design done pre-computer, was Swiss-style clean-lined composition, form, and typography as art. She worked in that field for some years and then switched to practicing acupuncture for over two decades. She returned to painting full-time in 2013.

She received training in this art form from Swami Chetanananda, abbot of the Movement Center in Portland. Laura is also a student of Lama Tsering Wangdu Rimpoche, lineage holder of the Longchen Nyingthig, Shije, and Chöd practice traditions, and abbot of Pal Gyi Langkor Jangsem Kunga Ling Monastery in Boudha, Nepal.
