About the stone: Golden topaz is the yellow to pinkish yellowish brown variety of topaz which is fluosilicate of aluminum which contains fluorine and hydroxyl in varying amounts. Topaz crystallizes in the orthorhombic system with crystals often prismatic and striated in the direction of its length. Crystals are generally only terminated on one end due to basal cleavage.
