An excerpt about Owl from Animal Totems and the Gemstone Kingdom
“Owl totem is an ally that helps you see, hear, and know what needs to be known by interpreting the messages from both the physical and spirit worlds. Owl allows you to “see in the dark” and “read between the lines.” When Owl swoops into your life, it signals a time to pay attention to what is going on behind the scenes. Owl alerts you that there is more to notice than you might see at a glance.
In mythology, Owl is a companion of Athena (Greek) and Minerva (Roman). By either name, these are the goddesses of wisdom. Athena is also known as Pallas. It is said that Athena’s owl sat on her blind side so that she would always see or know the truth. In many cultures, owls are known as symbols for spiritual and intellectual wisdom.”

“Sound Clearing
Chanting, hymns and drumming have been used for thousands of years in spiritual practices. Many acoustic instruments, such as drums, rattles, bells, and bowls, are used in a variety of ways to clear energy and effect change. Healthy organs and other body part resonate in harmony with the rest of the body, but when a body part is out of harmony with the rest of the body, dis-ease exists.
All energy is vibration, and all vibration has sound. Sound shifts the vibration of a space or energy field and has a transformational effect on each of us in our daily lives as well as in the healing process. For example, when peaceful, calming music is played in a room or space, it promotes serenity and relaxation. Likewise, hearing one’s favorite song and singing along, in the car for instance, brings joy. On the other hand, hearing intense booming from another’s car at a stoplight can result in agitation. Singing has been used to soothe a baby to sleep, ease the stress of an illness or pain, and to bring more joy into one’s life. Sound and music create vibrations within and around us.
In many cultures, chanting—repetitive melodic speaking or singing of a phrase or statement (mantra)—brings focus and peace. Chanting moves energy and assists in connecting spiritually with the Divine. Chanting is a way to tune in to the frequency of love. The chanting of mantras, as practiced by Benedictine and Tibetan monks, creates an avenue for a dialogue with the Divine. This connection clears energy and transforms the vibrational frequency.”
