Color: brown with a cross or x running through it

Chakra(s): root and navel

About the stone: Andalusite is an aluminum silicate with strong pleochroism of yellow, green and red. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic system with squarish crystals, but well-formed crystals are rare. An opaque variety of this stone with carbonaceous inclusions that form a black cross is known as chiastolite.

Astrological sign(s): Capricorn

Mohs scale: 7.5

Spiritual uses: Andalusite helps you align with earth-centered spirituality, which includes the beliefs and practices of the indigenous people around the world as well as Paganism.

Mental uses: Gaze at the cross running through the stone to find focus.

Emotional uses: Andalusite enhances the healing power of the negative ions of the great outdoors to balance your emotions. If you are feeling out of sorts in your emotions, this stone helps motivate you to take the time to be in your garden. Its energy encourages you to go to the park, beach, lake or somewhere where you can be renewed in nature. Take the journey to the center of yourself and find balance from the time outdoors.

Physical uses: This stone is beneficial for the bones, spinal column, teeth, hair, and nails. Use it when you might have a tendency to stumble, trip, or fall, or when you are generally feeling clumsy.
