Essential Oils: Antibacterial, Antiseptic, and Antiviral
By Margaret Ann Lembo from The Essential Guide to Aromatherapy and Vibrational Healing

Aromatic plants have played an important role in health, beauty, food preservation, and healing on all levels for millennium, with written records going back to around 3,500 BC. Ancient Egyptians used aromatherapy in the embalming and mummification process (2650–2575 BC) as well as in their daily lives. Still known today as master perfumers, the Egyptians were actually the first to extract the volatile oils from plants with the use of heat.

The antiseptic, antibacterial, and antiviral properties of essential oils have been used to ward off diseases for centuries. It is said that, during the Great Plague in Europe, essential oils were used to prevent the plague from spreading. There were a number of these plagues that went through Seville (1647), London (1665–66), Vienna (1679), and Marseille (1720). Historical accounts suggest that because the perfumers were constantly handling these aromatic substances in the making of perfumes, they were immune to this terrible illness.

Essential oils also work on an energetic level to rebalance us spiritually, mentally, and emotionally, and offer many physiological benefits. Emotional and mental rebalancing includes raising our spirits when we are feeling down to clear out negative thoughtforms as well as psychic debris.

How to Use Essential Oils

There are many ways for essential oils to have positive effects on the body, mind, and spirit. The three ways I recommend using essential oils, whether as single notes or part of a blend, are:

1. Diffusion—cold-water mist from a diffuser or mister into the air.

2. Inhalation—smelling the oil or blend directly from the bottle or as a mist.

3. Topically—application to the skin (usually the soles of the feet) with the use of a carrier oil or lotion.

Incorporate the use of essential oils into your daily life. It adds another dimension to life. Use it to raise your spirits or ward off blankinfections. There are many essential oils that are antibacterial, antiseptic, and antiviral including: eucalyptus, lavender, orange, ravensara, and tea tree. There are many more essential oils that have therapeutic qualities and other qualities to ward off infections and keep us healthy.

Angel of Comfort: Chrysoprase and Lavender Essential Oil for support and kindness
By Margaret Ann Lembo

Do you need comforting? Are you experiencing emotional challenges? Call on the Angel of Comfort to support you during times of personal suffering. Your internal dialog can prevent you from feeling that everything will be alright. Breathe deeply and inhale lavender essential oil to clear and calm your mind, comfort your heart and soothe and calm chaotic rampant emotions. Lavender is a great tool for meditation. This oil brings in blessings and the sweetness of love. Due to its relaxing and sedative nature, lavender is beneficial for challenging situations on all levels and for all ages. Inhale this essential oil while you repeat the affirmations below.

Turn to the Angel of Comfort when you feel inconsolable. Imagine you are telling this angel all that is on your mind. Hold a piece of chrysoprase to bring forth a sense of being cared for, loved, and appreciated as you inhale the lavender essential oil and imagine you are asking this angel for help. Give the Angel of Comfort permission to help you to feel the support you need so you can release emotions and feelings that are causing discomfort and grief. Put extra time into your meditation to balance your heart chakra so you can open your heart to feel love and kindness enveloping you. Be sure to stay grounded and in the present moment by focusing on your root chakra as you affirm that you know that everything will be all right. Access your inner power at your solar plexus and make it your intention to feel confident in the ultimate outcome of well-being and happiness.

Chrysopraseblank is a heart chakra stone. With this stone in hand, open your heart to give love and, even more important, to let yourself receive love. Chrysoprase heightens your compassion for yourself when you realize that your repetitive thoughts are attracting unwanted situations. With this stone in hand, you can consciously decide to have the courage and confidence to allow love into your life.
Give the Angel of Comfort permission to help you feel the support you need so you can release emotions and feelings that are causing discomfort and grief. You can also call on archangels to help you when you need further support. For example, Archangel Michael is a favorite archangel to bring forth feelings of safety. Call on Archangel Raphael to help emotional discomfort as well as physical discomfort. Archangel Zadkiel can help you gain mental clarity and focus so you can develop a logical approach to overcome uncomfortable situations.

It is time to find the tools to bring your comfort. Take it into your own hands to do what it takes to make your life happier and filled with peace and calm.

Repeat this affirmation to help you to make the shift:
“I feel at ease. My friends and family are supportive and encouraging. Everything I need or want is always available to me. I am comforted and allow balance to return to my life. Uplifting vibes are available to me always. Nurturing energy surrounds me, bringing my emotional body into alignment. I attract inner peace and comfort every day in many ways.”
